Researcher: Women’s Collective Specialist in East-Africa (Qualitative)


 

American Institutes for Research (AIR) is leading a research initiative that aims to strengthen the evidence on the impact and cost-effectiveness of women empowerment collectives (including but not limited to self-help groups, saving groups, and participatory women’s groups) and to provide technical assistance to the gender equality team of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) and its evaluation partners. We aim to synthesize existing evidence on women’s empowerment collectives in India and East Africa. This work will provide guidance for future evaluations of women’s empowerment collectives. AIR will closely consult with the gender equality team at BMGF as well as other research partners in the design and implementation of the research. 

To support this exciting work, AIR is seeking experts based in East Africa to serve as consultants to contribute to the research on the impact and cost-effectiveness of women’s collectives in East-Africa and to provide guidance to BMGF and its evaluation partners.
